MADRID
SELECTED IN MADRID, HOMES ACROSS EUROPE

Families in thirteen countries, the same selection we do for Madrid and Barcelona

Every route on the map is a country where we have already placed staff or where we serve families' requests. Our head office is in Madrid and we have an office in Barcelona; outside Spain we have none: we interview here, verify here and see the move through to the door of the house.

WHAT WE OFFER

Spanish, Filipino and Spanish-speaking staff, already interviewed, for a home that is not in Spain

Most of the families who ask us for staff abroad know Spain: they have a second home here, they lived here, or they simply trust the way Spanish and Filipino live-in staff run a house. What they lack is a pool they can trust in Geneva, Frankfurt or Rome. That pool is ours: candidates interviewed in person or by video, with references we have spoken to, documents checked and a stated willingness to live abroad.

We are not a local agency with an office in every capital: our office is in Madrid, we have a second one in Barcelona, and none outside Spain. We are a Spanish placement agency registered with Spain's National Employment System (SNE) since 2009, and we select here and present there. That honesty is the point: you get the same selection we run for families in Madrid and Barcelona, and we do not pretend to be what we are not.

The service is the same one our clients in Spain use, adapted to distance: video interviews from your client portal, a two-day trial when travel allows, a single fee only if you hire, and a six-month guarantee. Real timing is days for the first profiles and weeks for the start date, because permits and relocation take longer than a move across town.

PROFILES WE PLACE ABROAD

High-level live-in profiles, not hourly cleaning

Outside Spain we only place staff who live in the home or in staff accommodation on the property. These are the roles families ask us for, in the order they ask.

HOW IT WORKS LEGALLY

What you need to know before hiring from Spain for a home abroad

Four rules apply everywhere in the EU, and two countries need a note of their own. We checked each point against the official source on 12 September 2026 and we say so on every country page.

  1. Who employs, and under which law

The employer is the family, in the country where the home is. We are a placement agency: we select and present, we are neither the employer nor a temp agency, so the Posting of Workers Directive (written for companies) does not apply. The contract is governed by the law of the place where the work is habitually done, even if the parties choose another (Rome I Regulation, art. 8).

  2. Social security: the destination country's

The general rule of Regulation (EC) 883/2004 (art. 11(3)(a)) is to contribute where you work. The exception is a temporary posting (art. 12): a family resident in Spain that takes an employee already hired here may keep her in the Spanish system for up to 24 months with the A1 certificate issued by the TGSS, if the conditions are met. Otherwise the registration is done in the destination country.

  3. Free movement and non-EU candidates

A candidate with EU/EEA or Swiss nationality settles and works without a permit; after three months she usually has to register her residence. A non-EU candidate resident in Spain (Filipino, for example) needs the destination country's work permit: the Spanish permit is not valid outside Spain and long-term resident status helps, but does not authorise.

  4. Data protection when sending profiles

Profiles travel with the candidate's informed consent. Within the EEA there is no international transfer; to Switzerland, the UK and Andorra there is, covered by a European Commission adequacy decision (GDPR arts. 44-45). Monaco has no adequacy decision: we rely on appropriate safeguards or the explicit consent of art. 49.

  5. United Kingdom after Brexit: a visa is needed

EU nationality no longer gives the right to work in the UK. The Overseas Domestic Worker visa only lets an employee who has already worked for you for at least a year accompany you for up to six months, and it cannot be extended. The Skilled Worker route needs a licensed sponsor and an eligible occupation, and housekeepers, cleaners and chauffeurs are listed as ineligible. For London we therefore work with candidates who already hold the right to work in the UK.

  6. Switzerland: permit L or B, and only EU/EFTA nationals in practice

An EU/EFTA candidate with a contract of twelve months or more gets a B permit (valid five years); shorter contracts get an L permit. For non-EU/EFTA nationals Switzerland admits only managers, specialists and other skilled professionals, with priority to Swiss and EU workers, so a Filipino housekeeper resident in Spain cannot normally be placed there.

Checked on 12 September 2026 against EUR-Lex (Rome I, Regulation 883/2004), europa.eu, the European Commission's adequacy list, gov.uk and sem.admin.ch.

What you need to know before starting, not legal advice: each case is confirmed by the family with its adviser or the country's authorities. We keep these notes reviewed and tell you what we have checked and where.

WHERE WE PLACE

Five regions, thirteen countries, one selection process

Each country has its own page with the places families ask about, the entry and work requirements we have verified, and the profiles most in demand there.

The heart of our work abroad: Switzerland is the destination where placing Spanish staff makes most financial sense, Germany and Austria are steady sources of requests, and Brussels, Amsterdam and Luxembourg bring international families who already employed staff in Spain. Free movement applies to EU candidates everywhere except Switzerland, which issues its own L or B permit but treats EU nationals almost as freely. Salaries across the region are high, statutory minimums are published and, in Switzerland and Austria, there are legally binding minimum wage tables specifically for domestic staff. Winter homes in Gstaad, Verbier and Kitzbühel add a seasonal layer: staff who move with the family between the city and the mountains.

United Kingdom

London is our single most requested city outside Spain: Kensington, Chelsea and Mayfair households, plus country houses in Surrey and the Cotswolds. Since Brexit an EU passport no longer opens the door, so we are frank about it: we place candidates who already have the right to work in the UK, and we explain what the Overseas Domestic Worker visa can and cannot do for a family that wants to bring staff already employed in Spain. Spanish-speaking nannies and housekeepers remain in real demand from families who split their year between London and Spain.

Mediterranean: France, Monaco, Italy and Greece

Second homes and principal residences alike: Paris and the Côte d'Azur, Monaco, Rome, Milan and Lake Como, Athens and the islands. Italy sends us a steady flow of requests from Rome and Milan and from the estates of Tuscany; Monaco has grown since 2026; Greece is new and promising. Each country has a distinct frame for household employment (the French particulier employeur and CESU system, Monaco's own social funds and work permit, Italy's national domestic-work agreement, Greece's quota system) and we set it out plainly on each page. Summer villas need staff from May to October, main homes all year.

Portugal

Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra, Comporta and the Algarve attract families who often keep a link with Spain, and the six-hour drive from Madrid makes trials and visits easy for both sides. Portugal's minimum wage and residence visa for salaried work are clear and published, and Spanish-speaking staff adapt quickly to the language. We already receive regular requests for Filipino domestic staff for Lisbon and Cascais from international families relocating there, and a good share of our pool speaks Portuguese natively, which shortens the first weeks in a new house.

Andorra

Two hours from Barcelona and outside the EU: every foreign worker, Spanish nationals included, needs an immigration authorisation issued within the Principality's annual quota, and the family applies as employer. Escaldes-Engordany and La Massana concentrate the residences we are asked about. We include Andorra because families with homes in Barcelona ask us, and because its rules are the clearest example of why the country page matters more than the map: the quota, the medical check and the CASS registration all sit on the calendar before the first day.

SPANISH FAMILIES ABROAD

Moving from Spain with your household staff

A good share of our work in Brussels, Geneva, London and Frankfurt is the other way round: a Spanish family posted abroad, an EU official, a banker or an executive, who wants to keep their housekeeper or nanny, or find one who speaks the children's language. If the employee is already hired in Spain and the move is temporary, the A1 certificate route can keep her Spanish social security for up to 24 months; if the move is for good, the contract and registration change to the new country, and the tax residence of both sides is worth reviewing.

For a non-EU employee the passport decides more than the contract: a Filipino housekeeper with Spanish residence cannot simply follow the family to Germany or Switzerland, and can only accompany you to the UK for six months on the Overseas Domestic Worker visa. We say this on the first call, so the search starts with candidates who can actually go.

HOW WE DO IT FROM MADRID

How you hire live-in staff for your home outside Spain

The same process as in Spain, with the permit and the trip added to the calendar.

  1. Brief and legal frame

A twenty-minute call: home, family, duties, languages, start date and which permit the candidate needs in your country. With that we define the profile and the market salary.

  2. Selection in Spain

In-depth interview in Madrid or by video, references checked by speaking with previous employers, and verification of documents and availability to live abroad.

  3. Interviews and trial

Video calls from your client portal; if you travel to Spain, an in-person interview. Many families run a two-day trial before deciding.

  4. Contract, permit and travel

We guide you on the contract and the registration in your country and, where needed, on the permit. We coordinate the relocation trip and stay in touch through the six-month guarantee.

FEES & GUARANTEE

One-off fee and a 6-month guarantee, outside Spain too

You pay nothing during the search. Only once you take the person on and you're happy do you pay a single fee: the equivalent of one month of the agreed salary, plus VAT where applicable depending on where the job is. No subscriptions or lock-in.

  • One-off fee: one month's salary (+ VAT where applicable)

A single payment, only once you take the person on. We confirm the exact amount upfront, in euros or in your country's currency.

  • 6-month guarantee

Replacement at no cost if the person isn't the right fit, and a 50% refund of the fee if you're not satisfied during the first month.

  • Relocation and trial

The family covers the relocation trip; before that you can interview by video and, if you travel to Spain or the candidate to your city, run a two-day trial.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Hiring household staff in Europe from Spain: what families ask

No. Our office is in Madrid, with a second one in Barcelona, and we have none outside Spain. We are a Spanish agency registered with the SNE since 2009, and we say so. We select in Spain and present to you wherever you are; interviews are by video or in Madrid, and the candidate travels once you have decided.

You are, in the country where your home is, under that country's employment law and social security. We act only as a placement agency: we never employ the staff ourselves and we are not a temp agency.

Not automatically. Her Spanish permit is valid only in Spain; Germany requires a residence title permitting employment, and Switzerland admits non-EU nationals only as managers or specialists. Filipino candidates with an EU passport, or with the right to work in your country, are a different matter.

Yes, with candidates who already hold the right to work in the UK. An EU passport is no longer enough, the Overseas Domestic Worker visa only covers six months with an existing employer, and housekeepers and chauffeurs are ineligible for the Skilled Worker route.

United Kingdom page

First profiles in a few days; the start date usually falls between three and eight weeks, depending on notice periods, the permit where one is needed and the relocation trip. Faster than that is possible with a candidate who is free and an EU passport.

Yes: couples are the second most requested profile outside Spain, for villas, chalets and estates with grounds. We keep couples with villa, chalet and estate experience available for Europe in our pool.

Domestic couples

The family covers the relocation trip and provides accommodation, either in the home or in staff quarters. Board and lodging are part of the terms we agree in writing before the trip.

By speaking directly with previous employers, in Spanish, English or Portuguese, and by verifying identity documents, permits and, where the country requires it, criminal record certificates. We share what we found, not a summary.

The same as in Spain: nothing during the search and a single fee equal to one month of the agreed salary, plus VAT where applicable, once the person starts. It includes the six-month guarantee and a 50% refund if the first month does not work out.

Fees and guarantee

We give you the frame we have verified for your country and the documents the candidate brings; the contract itself is drafted under local law, and we recommend a local adviser or the country's employer portal for the registration.
